Eyecare Atlas is an independent directory operated by Routeless. We organize information from public records, official websites, and other named sources so patients can research and compare eye care practices.
We are not affiliated with the eye care practices listed here, and published details change. Confirm current clinician license status, vision and medical plan participation, the provider type you will see, services, and appointment availability with the practice directly, or with the authority that keeps the record.
Purpose
Why Eyecare Atlas exists
Two questions decide most eye appointments: what the visit is for, and which plan pays for it. Vision plans and medical insurance are different coverage, and optometrists, ophthalmologists, and opticians do different work. Eyecare Atlas organizes providers around those distinctions so the first appointment is with the right kind of provider.
Coverage
What we list, and who it is for
Eye care organizations in the United States, added market by market as federal NPI Registry records are collected and reviewed. Clinician license status appears only when a separate current state record is available.
Adults booking an eye exam, replacing glasses or contacts, following up on a symptom, or preparing for a surgical consultation, who want to know what their vision or medical plan covers before they call.
Editorial standards
Records, our summaries, and owner submissions stay separate
- Eligibility and identity rest on the authoritative records named on each profile. A profile that cannot clear those checks is not published.
- Operational details are attributed to the source that reported them, with the date they were checked. Nothing is inferred from a license, a taxonomy code, or an identifier.
- Summaries we write are drawn from named source material, labeled as ours, and never presented as clinical, legal, or financial advice.
- Owner submissions are reviewed before they appear and stay identified as owner-supplied. Claiming a profile does not add a badge or move a practice up the page.
- Payment does not change what a profile says or where it appears. We do not sell placement on Eyecare Atlas.
